Health & fitness programs:our yoga and aquatics departments aim to improve the quality of life for people of all ages through physical fitness and health education. Programs aim to prevent health problems in adults and develop healthy habits in youth. Our programs strengthen bodies and build self-esteem and confidence. Young people learn the value of teamwork and the importance of safety while developing skills that will last a lifetime. The synchro team had 17 swimmers that started meeting again in October of 2020 due to covid-19. Normally they attend meets along the east coast but this year they practiced and were able to compete in a few virtual synchro meets. We have continued to grow our mindfulness trainings. We have found since the pandemic more organizations are looking for ways to help their staff cope with the effects of the pandemic and to learn ways to take care of themselves. We also offered several virtual, free yoga classes all through the year. The y-tri sprint triathlon is normally held the last Sunday in June, but we moved the date to August 2020 hoping we would be able to host an in person event, but covid-19 prevented that from happening and we had to cancel the event for the second year in a row. We reopened the pool in August for aquatic classes and started back with swim lessons in September 2020. Fiscal year 2020-2021 accomplishments: * 500 people participated in swim lessons * 55 aquatics members * the y-tri sprint triathlon was cancelled due the covid-19 pandemic. * The york synchro team had 17 members this past year ranging in age from 2nd to 12th grade. This is the only synchronized swim team in york county. * Continues to offer a variety of aquatic classes including different levels of aqua exercise and programs for silver sneakers members.
