Girl scouting has one program - that of leadership development. Within that overall program focus we have hundreds of program strategies and activities that support our leadership development model of discover, connect and take action. Each "leg" of the leadership model has five outcomes as follows: discover:1. Girls develop a strong sense of self2. Girls develop positive values3. Girls gain practical life skills4. Girls seek challenges in the world5. Girls develop critical thinkingconnect:1. Girls develop healthy relationships2. Girls promote cooperation and team building3. Girls can resolve conflicts4. Girls advance diversity in a multicultural world5. Girls feel connected to their communities, locally and globallytake action:1. Girls can identify community needs2. Girls are resourceful problem solvers3. Girls advocate for themselves and others, locally and globally4. Girls educate and inspire others to act5.
