See schedule oblue collar prep: blue collar prep (bcp) is a seven-week pre-apprenticeship training program for underemployed and unemployed women, transgender, and non-binary individuals. The training program, an intense program for a cohort of 25 students, is currently hosted in a hybrid virtual and in person training environment and held five days a week. New classes start every four to six weeks and are offered at no cost to all students. Students are provided access to zoom learning classrooms and metrocards for travel to and from in- person training. The comprehensive, innovative curriculum, developed in collaboration with union apprenticeship directors and employers, includes introduction classes in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing; lifting and carrying; trades math; and health and safety training. New built upon the success of bcp and introduced an additional core day program, green collar prep (gcp), which incorporates sustainability practices into the curriculum.
