Part 1: mount saint mary's university, is a california nonprofit public benefits corporation founded by the sisters of st. Joseph of carondelet (provincialate), a religious community of the roman Catholic church. The university was founded in 1925 by sisters of st. Joseph and has operated continuously since that date. The objective of mount saint mary's university as a nonprofit educational institution is service. The university has devoted itself to excellence in liberal arts and sciences and grants degrees in associate, baccalaureate, masters and doctor programs, with a special focus on the education of women for leadership positions in our society. - Part 3: mount saint mary's university offers a dynamic learning experience in the liberal arts and sciences to a diverse student body. As a Catholic university primarily for women, we are dedicated to providing a superior education enhanced by an emphasis on building leadership skills and fostering a spirit to serve others. Our measure of success is graduates who are committed to using their knowledge and skills to better themselves, their environments, and the world.

Nstruction: mount saint mary's university provides values based traditional undergraduate education for women, as well as, innovative non-traditional undergraduate and graduate educational programs for women and men. The university's academic programs place a strong emphasis on social and ethical values consistent with a view of compassionate community involvement. Since its inception, the university has granted more than 27,800 degrees. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021, the university enrolled approximately 1,430 full-time equivalents (fte) traditional undergraduate students; 455 fte non-traditional undergraduate students; and 825 fte graduate students.

Auxiliary enterprises: mount saint mary's university auxiliary enterprises are comprised of residence and dining halls, and parking facilities. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021, residence hall occupancy was greatly reduced due to los angeles county mandate of student closure due to covid-19 virus. The occupancy was reduced to approximately 30 undergraduate students.

Mount saint mary's university and the geena davis institute on gender in media (institute) have established a long-term strategic alliance that creates new research, education and advocacy programs under mount saint mary's university. Founded in 2004 by academy award winning actor and advocate geena davis, the institute and its programming arm, see jane, is the only research-based organization working within the media and entertainment industry to engage, educate, and influence the need for gender balance, reducing stereotyping and creating a wide variety of female characters for entertainment targeting 11 years old and under. The institute has amassed the largest body of research on gender prevalence in entertainment spanning 20 years.
