Mission

The goal of tandem is to provide high quality medical and maternity-related care services to individuals seeking alternative birthing options. Specifically, tandem exists to: create educational and outreach programs and materials related to providing high quality prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum care; provide evidence-based prenatal, perinatal and postpartum health services to underserved populations; support families in their child bearing years through activities that build community and increase connection; expand the range of safe, high quality, accessible birth-related care options available to the community; educate community members and professionals about the midwifery model of care; demonstrate excellence in care through statistic-tracking and increased transparency; improve outcomes related to the morbidity and/or mortality of populations served; increase access to midwifery care; solicit and receive funds for the accomplishment of the above purposes
