Schedule oharris county domestic violence coordinating council centralizes services and systems, improves communications across disciplines, and develops written formal protocols that seek to improve access to services and safety for victims, hold perpetrators accountable, and reduce and prevent future incidents of violence. The council works to implement positive solutions for lowering barriers to access and increasing victims' safety in the 5 largest systems; law enforcement, domestic violence service providers, the criminal justice system, medical service providers, and adult and child protective services. The council relies entirely on increasing collaborations with the agencies, organizations, and systems that work in the field of domestic violence. The council is committed to creating client-centered pathways to services and reducing the barriers victims have to access services. The goal is to improve systemic responses to meet the clients when, where, and how the clients need to be met. The council seeks to employ staff and consultants who bring evidence-based, research-informed, and client-centered opportunities to the community for consideration and implementation.
