Transitional housing and permanent housing provided 79,450 nights of shelter. This program accomodates 2-3 families in single family homes at no cost for up to 6 months. After spending time stabilizing their lives, the families can then move to an apartment for up to 2 years during which time they pay some rent and receive ongoing services to help with budgeting, permanent housing options, parenting skills, relationship building, legal advocacy and community referrals. Once in their own permanent housing, financial and program support May also be provided to help them maintain their independence based on the needs of the family. Wings also offers permanent housing units to families in need of this option due to disabilities as well as 2 affordable housing units for long-term stay. In addition, wings offers rapid re-housing through grants from HUD and from the city of chicago. Lastly, wings offers a transitional housing program through a grant with the illinois criminal justice information authority.
