Resource centerthe YWCA resource center equips individuals with the tools and resources they need to navigate pathways toward self-sufficiency, stability, and increased well-being.The yw resource center creates a single point of entry and comprehensive assessment so financially struggling individuals can access essential community resources and public benefits, avoid barriers, and find resolve. More than a referral line, the yw resource center establishes a long-term relationship - in an unbiased, supportive space - with appropriate follow-ups. Our personal approach assures that individuals at critical crossroads - just starting out, newly divorced, or recovering from abuse - get the jump-start they need to manage their economic situation.Through the resource center, the YWCA:-offers homeless and low-income individuals and families safe, affordable places to live, as well as supportive services that help them move toward self-sufficiency and permanent housing.-Links financially vulnerable families to benefits through the benefit bank, a web-based service that centralizes the process of applying for many state and federal benefits.-Connects families with human services, employment training, legal assistance, and licensed child care.-Teaches individuals about financial management and the importance of saving.-Empowers individuals to take control of their health by promoting community-based education, eliminating barriers to quality healthcare access.-Stands alongside women in crisis to resolve problems, identify resources, and achieve stability.
