Sola is afghanistans first and only girls boarding school. Sola provides residential program which in the early months of 2021 was located in kabul. The three central components of solas curriculum are the academic, campus life and leadership program. During August 2021, a total of 250 students, faculty, staff and family members were evacuated to rwanda. Sola's operations have resumed locally in rwanda, in a facility under an extended stay lease (including lodging, meals and laundry for all evacuees), renewable on a quarterly basis. Currently, approximately 100 girls are receiving daily education in this facility. If at some point in the future the security conditions in afghanistan change, sola will consider returning to kabul to resume its educational activities in country. Sola's program was established to narrow the significant gap in educational quality yet now it provides education to afghan girls who would otherwise have limited or no access to education. In order to properly administer its program activities in rwanda, sola (through sola for afghan girls) registered as a private company limited by shares, under the name "sola ltd". The purpose of sola ltd. Is to carry out "educational support activities", however, net income is taxable at corporate rates. Sola for afghan girls is the sole owner of sola ltd., Owning 100 shares (with share capital of 50 million rwandan francs, or approximately $50,000). The long-term impact of the conditions in afghanistan (on sola's operations) is unknown at this time.
