Strategic initiatives - the idea incubation and development arm of the organization, futures continues to strive to identify critical social issues that contribute to violence against women and children, and develop groundbreaking programs and campaigns to transform social norms and create new collaborations to develop comprehensive strategies to end and prevent violence against women and children. In 2021 we introduced our first class of grantee partnerships for all in for kids, a remarkable collaborative we launched with community partners in the san francisco bay area to strengthen the social, emotional and physical well-being of children and their families. We also selected 17 organizations nationwide to receive grants from our domestic violence response fund for the purpose of supporting organizations that serve black, indigenous and people of color who are survivors of domestic and sexual violence who had an increased need for services during the pandemic.

Children/youth/young families - the team at futures without violence focused 2021 on field building, leadership development, and policy work. We provided up to date, ready for use content and promising innovations about centering lived experience in program and policy design, culturally responsive and equity driven practice, and effective strategies for working with abusive partners. We developed and delivered 32 unique conference presentations, webinars, or trainings, designed and implemented two survivor-led national policy listening sessions, and participated in a national roundtable on engaging and intervening with people who use violence. Our efforts reached over 6,300 professionals nationally and internationally, while our social media endeavors resulted in 150+ new followers and amassed over 150k website visits. Calendar year 2021 also saw the development of 4 new podcasts for professionals working with abusive partners, bringing the total number of available podcasts about this important work to 11. To date these podcasts have been downloaded a total of 5,029 times and counting! Throughout the year, we offered monthly ta calls to leaders, managers, court personnel, and frontline staff in child welfare and community-based dv organizations, strengthening the capacity of the field to serve the unique needs of children and their families across 21 states.
