Part 1: the foundation's primary function is the support and operation of the oprah winfrey leadership academy for girls which is a school for girls located in south Africa. - Part 3: the organization is an independent school which strives to provide a nurturing educational environment for academically gifted girls who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The educational programs are designed for girls in grades 8 to 12 who have demostrated academic talent and leadereship potential. The students are equipped with the intellectual and social skills necessary to assume positions of leadership in south Africa and abroad.
