All Programs

The girl scout leadership experience - the girl scout leadership experience prepares girls to be future leaders in their communities, businesses, and families by combining each girls' potential with robust skill-building programming that is designed to meet her where she is now and grow along with her and which is centered around 4 core areas: stem (science, technology, engineering and math), outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship. Girl scout programming is proven to help girls thrive as they develop a strong sense of self, display positive values, seek challenges and learn from setbacks, form and maintain healthy relationships, and identify and solve problems in the community. During the year ended September 30, 2021, the girl scout leadership experience gave over 22,000 girls the tools they need to make the world a better place, including over 3,000 girls who participated in stem program activities, almost 1,000 girls who received a gold, silver, or bronze award, and approximately 11,000 girls who participated in the financial literacy program selling cookies. Girl scouts of greater atlanta ("gsgatl") also provided nearly 3,000 girls with financial assistance through our outreach program and 16 girls received a total of $52,000 in gold award scholarships. In-person programs and events were still limited by covid-19, but gsgatl continued providing virtual programming to ensure all girls had an opportunity to participate in girl scout activities.

The girl scout outdoor program - the girl scout camp program is a place to embrace the natural environment, promote community, teach critical thinking and create future leaders. Girl scouts of greater atlanta ("gsgatl") offers year-round camp experiences that promote these essential life skills in the outdoor setting at three camp facilities throughout our 34-county territory. During the year ended September 30, 2021, the girl scout camp program delivered nearly 4,000 experiences to girls and adults that provided the skills and experiences they need to build a solid foundation for self-management, healthy lifestyles and team building through day events, council and volunteer day camps, equestrian activities, and weekend events. Due to covid-19, gsgatl had to limit capacity for in-person camping events, including summer camp.

Member and volunteer services - gsgatl is dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Girl scouting is primarily delivered by volunteers with council resources dedicated to supporting the recruitment, education, support and retention of volunteers. During the year ended September 30, 2021, over 22,000 girls and almost 11,000 adult volunteers participated in the delivery of the girl scout leadership experience. Without our signature volunteer education and support, gsgatl would not be able to deliver its premier leadership development programming.
